for families and caregivers. About the Role We are seeking a
Billing Coordinator who is detail-oriented, proactive, and
service-minded. This role is essential to ensuring timely, accurate
reimbursement while maintaining a positive experience for patients,
families, and payors. The ideal candidate understands that strong
billing operations directly support patient care, agency
sustainability, and trust. Job Responsibilities Ensure timely and
accurate billing and collections to support optimal reimbursement
and healthy accounts receivable performance Maintain accurate and
up-to-date patient billing records across EMR and billing systems,
documenting all follow-up and account activity thoroughly Actively
work aging accounts receivable, including resubmitting claims,
resolving denials, and escalating significantly delinquent accounts
as appropriate Compile, track, and report key billing metrics and
trends Maintain a strong working knowledge of billing systems,
workflows, and system enhancements or updates Serve as a
professional point of contact for patients, families, payors, and
internal teams regarding billing-related questions Ensure billing
aligns with payor contracts, authorization requirements, and
hospice-specific regulations Demonstrate working knowledge of
Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and managed care plans
relevant to hospice services Protect the confidentiality of patient
and organizational information in accordance with HIPAA and company
standards Support audits, appeals, and documentation requests as
needed Perform additional duties as assigned to support the success
of the revenue cycle and agency operations Job Qualifications
Minimum of 2 year of experience in billing, collections, or revenue
cycle operations within hospice or home health Working knowledge of
insurance plans, authorizations, claims submission, and appeals
processes Ability to research and resolve complex billing or payor
issues independently Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word,
Outlook required) Experience with EMR Strong attention to detail
with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a
customer-service mindset Ability to work collaboratively while also
being self-directed and accountable Physical Demands: The physical
