Expectations of a Process Engineer at Employer in Springfield, OhioInclude:Developing, leading, and implemtnting projects that improve peocess metrics. With an understanding of complex manufacturing processes, preferably in brittle materials to support equipment from start-up to high volume manufacturing. Knowledge of EDM machining processes and controls is preferred. Other Duties Include: Providng suppot and lead standardization for various manufacturing processes.
Evaluating existing manufacturing methods and sequences and recommends/implements improvements to increase efficiency, reduce cost, reduce waste, improving safety etc.
Designing and executing tests in support of process improvement.
Compiling and evaluate test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process specifications
Writing technical reports, work instructions and present status and results as required.
Actively lead programs using gated or phase methodologies.
Engaging with other engineering team members and provide cross functional support as needed.
Developing processes to improve key performance indicators.
Leading design of experiments (DOEs), tests, measurements, and provide data driven recommendations. Bachelor or Master's of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Material, or Chemical Engineering
5+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry or other highly regulated industry
Knowledge of machining and material removal operations, specifically looking for edm machining know-how and candidates with experience in polishing, impact grinding, plasma etching, CNC machining of brittle materials, or chemical processing
Experience in Lean technologies in a manufacturing environment including advanced problem solving/6-sigma skills
Demonstrated skill in machining process development and control
Demonstrated ability to analyze and model process data
Basic understanding of PLC and OPI (operator interface) controls
Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment
