Process Engineer - Crystal Growth

Essential Function: Responsible for the design and implementation of silicon single and multi-crystal growth and machining processes. Leads the optimization of instrumentation, equipment, process design, cost reduction and process performance to meet customer expectations. Performs trials, tests and/or experiments to support engineering and production objectives. Assists manufacturing operations in problem solving with regards to equipment and systems. Develops and recommends new process formulas and technologies to achieve cost effectiveness and improve product quality. Establishes operating equipment specifications and improves manufacturing techniques. Use engineering expertise to improve process understanding and accelerate learning in a team environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide support for various manufacturing processes Troubleshooting and problem solving of equipment, process, controls and support systems Lead standardization of processes, procedures, and data systems Design and execute tests in support of process improvement Write technical reports, work instructions and present status and results as required Actively lead key programs using gated or phase methodologies Engage with other engineering team members and provide cross-functional support Lead design of experiments (DOE) tests, measurements, and provide data driven recommendations Communicate best practices, test results and recommendations to the process engineering group to improve process performance and accelerate learning Follow all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions to EHS or management Apply lean manufacturing concepts and 5S Perform tasks/duties related to special projects or assignments Perform other duties as assigned by management Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Materials Engineering Strong ability and interest to apply engineering principles and expand knowledge of physical processes and controls: energy and mass balance, heat transfer, fluid flow, PLC, vision systems Knowledge of and experience with silicon materials and processes strongly desired 4 years of relevant experience desired in a high tech manufacturing environment Experience with Lean technologies and principles in manufacturing environment including advanced problem solving/6-sigma skills, design of experiments, and root cause analysis tools Strong program management skills are a necessity, Microsoft Project knowledge desirable Must be effective in both individual and team environments Detail oriented Self-starter, able to manage and execute a project with minimal supervision MS Office Suite, SPC knowledge (JMP) desirable Experience in the semiconductor industry with ---Copy Exact--- principals a plus Equipment Operated: Czochralski and directional solidification equipmentBand saws, grinders, and material handling liftsStrong magnetsStandard office equipment Physical Demands: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.--While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.----The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.----The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and; talk or hear.
