Job Description:

Plans, directs, and coordinates activities and projects related to the design, construction, and modification of manufacturing and facilities controls systems. Provides technical expertise and project management undertakings as required.

  • Work collaboratively with all Facilities Engineers to improve product quality, compliance, safety, reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Responsible for controls design, coordination, implementation and integration with current and future systems.
  • Be the integration and controls resource for the entire Facility.
  • Analyze data to identify trends in equipment and performance.
  • Create a culture of best practices sharing.
  • Write computer software and test procedures.
  • Purchase equipment.
  • Prepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.
  • Maintains inter- and intradepartmental workflow by fostering a spirit of cooperation.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Carry out special projects and all other additional duties as assigned by department management.
  • Provide advice to legal counsel on construction acquisition related issues as required. Culture:

    • Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S.
    • Demonstrate ownership of continuous improvement ideas and activities.
    • Maintain organization and cleanliness, housekeeping and 5S within work area.
    • Maintain these areas at the highest degree possible while responsibly escalating any maintenance issues. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
      • Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering, or a related discipline, with 5+ years' experience; or, High School diploma or GED with 8+ years' related experience
      • 5+ years' experience with I&C systems required. I&C systems experience with a commercial or industrial application is preferred.
      • Experience in electrical distribution, substations, generators, transformers and switchgear.
      • Experience with controls system design including applications for low and medium voltage distribution systems and controls for equipment such clean room systems and Facilities systems.
      • Selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation assembly of design packages, calculations, and specifications
      • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
      • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
      • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.
      • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
      • Ability to utilize computer applications such as; AutoCAD, Word processing, Spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail, Manufacturing software, and Database software. Desired Attributes:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and; talk or hear.
          • The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
          • While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the environment is moderate.
