Miami Valley HospitalFloat Pool7a-7p, 7p-7aFull time 72 hours per payThe Licensed Practical Nurse administers patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The Licensed Practical Nurse collaborates as a member of the nursing team to accomplish patient care activities and contributes to the implementation of patient care. The LPN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, applicable regulatory standards, and institutional policies and procedures. The LPN provides physical, emotional and spiritual support that directly/ indirectly impacts patient outcomes and care provided to patients/ families/ significant others. The Licensed Practical Nurse float rotates to designated units to subsidize staffing shortages as neededEducationMinimum Level of Education Required: Diploma ProgramAdditional Requirements

• Area of study or major: Practical nursingLicensure/Certification/Registration
  • Valid Ohio Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
  • Certified to administer medications
  • IV Certification requiredExperienceMinimum Level of Experience Required: 1 year experiencePreferred experience: HospitalKnowledge/Skills
    • Must be able to multitask with constant interruptions while maintaining a pleasant demeanor
    • Basic computer knowledge
    • Strong organization skills
    • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
