Job Description Job Description Salary: Position Overview The
Clinical Supervisor is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW)
or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) responsible for
providing clinical oversight, supervision, and leadership to
licensed and pre-licensed mental health professionals. This role
ensures the delivery of high-quality, ethical, and evidence-based
mental health services while maintaining compliance with state
regulations, organizational policies, and best clinical practices.
The Clinical Supervisor provides supervision, consultation, and
clinical guidance, and may maintain a limited caseload as assigned.
This position collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and
organizational leadership to support effective, client-centered
care. Key Responsibilities Clinical Supervision & Oversight Provide
individual and/or group clinical supervision to clinicians in
accordance with state licensure requirements for LISW and LPCC
supervision. Review, approve, and provide feedback on clinical
documentation, including assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans,
progress notes, and discharge summaries. Ensure clinical services
are delivered using evidence-based and trauma-informed practices.
Provide consultation on complex cases and support ethical
decision-making. Monitor clinician performance and support
professional development. Direct Clinical Services (As Assigned)
Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based
modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT, trauma-informed care). Address a
wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety,
depression, trauma, substance use, and relational issues. Create a
safe, supportive, and culturally responsive therapeutic
environment. Assessments & Diagnosis Conduct and/or review
comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments. Ensure accurate
diagnosis using DSM-5 criteria. Support clinicians in clinical
formulation and diagnostic clarity. Treatment Planning Oversee
development and ongoing review of individualized treatment plans.
Ensure treatment plans include measurable goals, objectives, and
appropriate interventions. Approve treatment plan updates based on
clinical progress and outcomes. Documentation & Compliance Ensure
timely, accurate, and compliant documentation within the electronic
health record (EHR). Maintain compliance with state regulations,
ethical standards, payer requirements, and organizational policies.
Participate in quality assurance, audits, and corrective action
processes as needed. Crisis Intervention & Risk Management Provide
clinical oversight during client crises, including assessment of
risk to self or others. Guide clinicians in safety planning,
mandated reporting, and referrals to higher levels of care. Ensure
appropriate documentation and follow-up related to critical
incidents. Collaboration & Leadership Collaborate with
multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatry, case management, and
medical providers. Participate in leadership meetings, case
conferences, and program development initiatives. Provide clinical
input into policies, procedures, and service improvements.
Professional Development Mentor clinicians in skill development,
ethical practice, and professional growth. Maintain current
knowledge of clinical best practices, regulatory changes, and
licensure requirements. Complete required continuing education to
maintain licensure and supervisory credentials. Qualifications
Masters degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or
a related field. Active, unrestricted state licensure as an LISW or
LPCC (required). Meets state requirements to provide clinical
supervision. Demonstrated experience in clinical therapy,
assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. Strong knowledge of
DSM-5, evidence-based practices, and ethical standards. Excellent
leadership, communication, organizational, and time-management
skills. Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications Prior experience providing clinical
supervision. Experience in community-based, school-based, or
outpatient behavioral health settings. Specialized training in
trauma-informed care, substance use treatment, or evidence-based
