Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology PCU/Medical-Surgical – Ohio Start
Date: March 23, 2026 Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: Details
provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 13-16 week contract;
Day/Night shifts available; Nurse to patient ratio 1:3 (PCU) or
1:4-5 (Medical-Surgical); Weekend shifts vary based on unit needs
Highlights: Float to various Oncology Medical-Surgical and PCU
units as needed Epic charting system utilized throughout facility
Oncology experience preferred but not required; strong
Medical-Surgical or Telemetry background welcomed Comprehensive
interdisciplinary support including Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy,
Respiratory Services, and Physical Therapy Secure corrections
healthcare environment with emphasis on staff safety 72-hour
orientation provided; one pre-approved time off period available
Requirements: Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license
required at time of submission) Minimum 2 years of nursing
experience; at least 1 year of current specialty experience
required BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Epic charting
experience required Previous charge experience preferred Education
from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Must complete Ohio
fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing Flu vaccine
required (medical exemptions only) Two professional references
required, including at least one from a manager/director or formal
leadership role Clinical Skills and Competencies: Cardiac
monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias,
unit-based telemetry IV therapy including blood product
administration, central line/PICC line management, starting and
maintaining IVs Medication management including heparin protocols,
cardiac drips, PCA, IV insulin protocols Respiratory care including
BiPAP/CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, tracheostomy management, ABG
interpretation Oncology-related skills such as accessing/managing
ports and monitoring chemotherapy preferred Pre/Post Hemodialysis
management and renal failure care Feeding tube care, surgical drain
management, and chest tube management Patient Population: Patients
with active oncology diagnoses and treatments including solid
tumors and hematology Patients admitted for oncology workup
Patients with cancer history admitted for other conditions such as
surgical procedures, COPD, sepsis, pneumonia, or abnormal labs
Non-oncology patients admitted for various medical-surgical
