When we focus our varied talents on reshaping the future of transportation, thats what we call the POWER OF U.S. What Youll Do: This position assists with the management of facilities including: resources, projects, and initiatives to ensure corporate and departmental goals & objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Provides support and problem resolution to the facilities group that manages all Company locations. Executes directives as set forth by the Building Maintenance Department & Director of Facilities. Supervise activities of building maintenance employees to provide efficiency, productivity, and safety. Responsible for the maintenance and working order of the buildings. Perform structured inspections on all properties within the region. Implement an action plan and follow up to ensure compliance. Maintain compliance and safety regulations Implement an effective preventive maintenance program across the portfolio Ensure systematic, comprehensive and consistent processes are being practiced across the portfolio Coordinate efforts between the site operations team, construction team and contractors Financially monitor and/or control maintenance inventory and/or supplies and the related expenses. Enforce cost control processes to maintain material, equipment and tool inventories Provide regular status updates to Facility Manager on projects and outstanding property issues Keep maintenance records of all daily repairs and services completed; Keep up to date facility task lists, monitor, and prioritize work; Complete monthly report of all maintenance completed. Develop and implement detailed plans and schedules for: preventive maintenance; grounds keeping; equipment and appliance repair or replacement; property maintenance and remodeling; building systems repair and replacement. Coordinate and plan the work and daily assignments of the maintenance staff; monitoring compliance with all relevant company and governmental safety rules and regulations; Conduct inspections for the following systems: heating, cooling, water, and electrical systems; backflow prevention; water pressure regulators; fire alarm and fire-suppression systems; security and emergency systems; Select renovation-level contractors and vendors; ensuring they meet industry standards and evaluating their work upon completion. Assists in the bid process for outside contract work; contact potential vendors and collect bids Keep technical specifications documents up-to-date, including blueprints, as-built plans, and utility schematics. Supervise subordinate staff by training, assigning work, coordinating efforts, providing technical guidance and reviewing progress of assignments. Perform on-call emergency service as required. Establish and build relationships with co-workers, vendors and customers. Create, operate and maintain properties in a safe and superior condition. Maintenance of buildings, parking lots and yards. Repair and maintain generator, lighting controls, HVAC systems, fire alarms, security alarms, and security cameras. Perform general facility upkeep, to include changing light bulbs, painting, pressure washing, etc Keep showers and restrooms in good working order Inspect buildings for quality of work being performed by maintenance personnel and contracted workers Management of facility department warehouse inventory and inbound/outbound shipments Coordinate, prioritize, and schedule of maintenance related tasks Perform all required general facilities maintenance; may assist with cubical layouts in office buildings. May maintain items in the shop area; fuel pumps and air compressors at terminals; assists in data/electrical wiring. Ensure landscape irrigation properly maintained. Meticulously maintain curb appeal, keeping grounds & common areas free of trash/debris. Conform to all safety rules and use all appropriate safety and personal protection equipment as required. May include additional duties as assigned by management. What Were Looking For: Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience 3-5 years of experience in maintenance, including some experience in HVAC, electrical, and carpentry. 1-3 years of supervisory experience. Skills/Certifications Requires judgment and problem solving capabilities. Knowledge of appliance repair and replacement. Ability to evaluate contractor proposals for feasibility and cost reasonableness Proficient with Microsoft Office suite. Good written and oral communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Good judgment and problem solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose building maintenance problems Technical aptitude Availability to work flexible hours as required, travel to multiple sites and be on-call in response to emergency situations Why U.S. Xpress?
